JOHNSON Patricia J., died on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from a brain tumor at The Villa Marie Claire Hospice in Saddle River, New Jersey. To those who had the pleasure of knowing her, she was the most kind, caring, and generous person with everyone she knew and met. She was born in New London, Connecticut on July 29, 1927, the youngest of three girls. Her family moved to Fort Lee, New Jersey a few years later and she graduated from Fort Lee High School in 1945. At the age of 21, she married her husband, William, and had two children, Holly and Billy. Her primary role was devoted mother to her two children, raising them in River Vale, NJ. She went on to work at Wiss Jewelers in the late 1970's in Paramus, NJ and then at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood in 1981 in the Environmental Services Department. She retired from there on June 1,1997. She was predeceased by her two children, her sisters, Wanda and Mabel, and her ex-husband, William. Mrs. Johnson is survived by many nieces and nephews: Stephen Cooney of Pottstown, PA, John Cooney of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Cooney Brunner of Catonsville, Maryland, Yvonne Thunhorst of Bayville, New Jersey, and Richard Peat of Las Vegas, NV. Along with her nieces and nephews, she is survived by her lifelong friend, Mrs. Marilyn Garrod, of Oakland, NJ, whom she met 75 years ago. The viewing will take place at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St, New City, NY 10956, and family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, December 27, 2013. The funeral mass will be at St. Anthony's Shrine Church, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY at 11:30 AM with the burial following immediately at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
