Patricia E. Dolly (Rockwood) Smith, 70 years of age, passed away at her home peacefully Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. She was a lifelong resident of Weymouth and attended Weymouth schools. She was a graduate of Bryant Stratton Business School in Boston. Dolly worked for the Kelly Girl Temp Agency before becoming an accountant at Speidel Watch & Jewelry Store in Boston. After being married and starting her family, she went to work at Childrens Hospital making prosthetic limbs. She was also a manager at Motel 6 and later a dispatcher for Town Taxi in Weymouth before retiring in 2007. Dolly loved to garden and research her genealogy and was an avid reader. She enjoyed word games and computer games, especially Words With Friends. As a life philosophy, Dolly claimed a belief in the natural order of things. She would always remind you to watch your step. She is survived by her former husband, James A. Smith Sr. Dolly was predeceased by her longtime partner, Joseph E. Tangherlini Sr. She is survived by her seven children, James A. Smith and his partner Jeanne of Quincy, Lance A Smith of North Weymouth, Leon J. Smith of North Weymouth, Donna J. Tonderum and her husband Michael of Elkhorn, Neb., Maura L. Shufeldt and her husband Brian of Fitchburg, Jolene Tangherlini Maggiore and her husband Chris of Braintree, and Joseph E. Tangherlini Jr. of North Weymouth. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren. Dolly is survived by her brother, Norman Rockwood of Braintree and Frostproof, Fla.; and her sister, Margaret Rockwood MacNeil Ericson of Weymouth. She was sister to the late Helen Joan MacNeil, William, Francis, Albert Jr., Henry and Edward Rockwood, Teresa Smith and Mary McGowan. Services will be private.
