Obituary of Patricia-Dailey Cooke


CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Funeral services for Patricia Dailey Cooke were held from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington, Vt., on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, with the Rev. Edward Howard, SJ, officiating.Organist was Louise Gauthier and soloist was Randy Frost. Hymns offered during the funeral service were “Here I Am Lord,” “My Tribute,” “I’ll Walk With God” and “When The Saints Go Marching In.”The funeral pall that draped Mrs. Cooke’s casket was placed by her sister and brother, Elizabeth “Betty” Riley and William E. Dailey Jr. A wooden cross was placed on the casket by Mrs. Riley. The scriptural readings were offered by nephews Richard Dailey and Edward Riley. Words of remembrance were offered by Mrs. Cooke’s son, David.Bearers were four sons, Patrick M., Daniel J., David V. and W. Christopher Cooke; her former husband, Deane Cooke and a close family friend, Ted Dwyer.Honorary bearers were Betty Becker, Lorna Cole, Theresa Demasi, Theresa Densmore, Mae Fox, Madeleine Gratton Jill Levin, Joyce Scarey and Leona Scott.Burial took place in the family lot in St. John’s Cemetery with the Rev. Howard offering the committal prayers.Mrs. Cooke, a former longtime resident of Cambridge, died May 2, 2005, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington, Vt.
