Patricia-Anne Taylor, born in 1944, spouse of Joe Taylor, daughter of Pat and Edna, mother of Rob and Joey, died on May 31, 2004 at 59 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Patricia Anne Simpson (née Taylor) - - June 01, 1944 - May 31, 2004 - - With deep regret and sadness we announce the passing of our mom, daughter, sister and aunt Pat at the age of 59, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn are her sons Joey, Craig and Rob; mother Edna Taylor; sister Alice Baker (William); and brother Tom Taylor; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband Joe in May 1999; father Pat Taylor; and brother Stephen Taylor. Affectionately known as Tootie by her relatives, Mom was born and raised in Brooklands. She began working at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 16 with her mother. While at the Health Sciences Centre, she met and later married Dad in 1966. She then settled down to the country life near Garson, MB. In 1969, she left the Health Sciences Centre to begin raising her family. Mom was deeply involved in our lives and volunteered considerable amounts of time during our school years and beyond. Mom loved cooking, cake decorating, gardening, movies, music, watching all sports from football to golf, and spending time with her family and many friends. Her love of cooking led her to her job at the Gateway Restaurant in Beausejour, MB in 1990 where she had the opportunity to try out her amazing recipes for the public and make many new friends. With her many friends from the Garson-Tyndall-Beausejour area, she loved to go out and have coffee, try out different restaurants or just have a good time. In 2002, she left the country life for the city to live with her son. But this move didn't stop her from returning to Garson and Selkirk for regular visits. A week would not pass without a visit to just talk or bring by some delicious home cooking. A special thanks to all of the friends and family that supported Mom during her long battle with cancer and to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital that made her last months as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Cremation and interment has occurred as per the family's wishes. Mom, your tireless and never-ending dedication to our lives and uncompromising love will never be forgotten. We will love you always. Your boys, Joey, Craig and Rob Bye Love Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE
