Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for the beloved Patricia Ann Smith, who passed at age 79 on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. Pastor Tommy Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.Patsy, as friends and family called her, was born in Gadsden, on Oct. 1, 1934. She was one of the first females hired by General Motors, where she worked in quality control and retired in the late 1980s to found the Patricia Harris Fine Arts in Atlanta. In 1999, she restored a historic home on Turrentine and she and her husband, Earl, moved back to Gadsden.She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Earl; children, Ondrea (Michael) Sellers, Vanessa (Van) Moore, Vann Smith and Valorie (Stephen) Beagle; sister, Betty Kirk; grandchildren, Nathanial (Crystal), Kevin (Lori), Shawn and Addison; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Julian, Jacob Phillips, Blake Phillips and Madelaine. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and is in their prayers.Pallbearers will be family and friends.In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Tabernacle Church TLC Fund at 1301 S. 11th St., Gadsden, AL 35904.The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
