Patricia Ann Davis, 71, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Pat was born on March 16, 1937, in Chicago to Wade C. Davis and Beryl L. (Rowe) Davis. Pat married the love of her life, Vernon B. Davis, on June 1, 1953, in Titusville and faithfully devoted her life to him and their family as he served in the U.S. Army. She enjoyed all sports and was an avid Notre Dame football fan. Pat and Vernon had the opportunity to attend a home game for their 50th anniversary. She was also an outstanding competitive bowler. Pat's greatest joy, however, was spending time with her large, loving family. She was a person of exemplary strength, wisdom, character and love. Pat was greatly loved and admired by her family and all who came to know her. She will be sorely missed and remains in the hearts and minds of all who loved her. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Patricia A. Boyd in 2001; her granddaughter Candace Boyd; her brother, Thomas W. Davis; and her sister Sue E. Davis. She is survived by her husband, Vernon B. Davis, of Copperas Cove; two sons, Gerald W. Davis and his wife, Pamela, of Houston, and Robert V. Davis, of Copperas Cove; two daughters, Kathleen L. Belcher and her husband, Joseph, of Palmetto, Ga., and Peggye A. Beeman, of Wylie, Texas; two sisters, Elizabeth McArthur, of Orlando, and Mary Kay Sutton, of DeBary; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The Davis family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Grace United Methodist Church, with Dr. Frank Somera officiating assisted by Pastor Stephen Schmidt. Interment services will follow at Smith Cemetery in Kempner, Texas. For those that desire, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
