->LINCOLN - Patricia Agnes Read (Ferris) Michaud passed to her place in Heaven, 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Penobscot Valley Hospital. She was born March 23, 1928, in Lincoln, the youngest of three daughters of Charles H. and Agnes M. (Welch) Read. She was brought into this world by Dr. George F. Way, M.D. Patricia attended Lincoln schools and graduated from Mattanawcook Academy, class of 1946. Later that year, on Sept. 24, 1946, she married John E. Ferris of Millinocket at St. Mary's Rectory in Lincoln by Father Thomas M. Nelligan. After the passing of Johnny, Dec. 26, 1975, Patricia met Albert W. Michaud, a devout Catholic, during church services. At that time she had just recently been baptized, received her first communion and was confirmed into the Catholic Church, April 27, 1975 by Father Andre L. Houle, OMI. Even though Patricia really never thought she would marry again, she and Albert were united in marriage, Nov. 25, 1976, and remained so until his passing, Jan. 24, 2013. For many years she was a homemaker, watching over the Ferris family as any good mother would and volunteering as a home room mother during her childrens' Ballard Hill school years. For a short time she and Johnny operated the corner store at the end of Highland Avenue and Walt's Lunch on Main Street. She would work occasionally for Rod and Pauline at Osgood's Department Store and also worked at Newberry's lunch counter. Sometime around the time of Johnny's brief illness in 1975, she trained as a school bus driver and after his passing she embarked on a new career?bus driving for MSAD No. 67 in Lincoln, where she retired after many years of dedicated and faithful service. Like many people of her generation hard work was never an issue. Until just recently, she never used a checkbook and very rarely a credit card. When she received a bill, she would pay it immediately. One of her favorite sayings was "In God We Trust" all others pay cash! Patricia and her first husband, John Ferris, were founding members of the Lincoln Maine Federal Credit Union. She was a past president and a life member of Lincoln Historical Society, a past member of Friends of the Lincoln Memorial Library and was involved with the library reading group. She was an avid reader. She was also a former member of Lincoln Humane Society. She is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and during the 1970s was an active Democratic Party supporter and a member of the Penobscot Valley Democratic Women's Club.Patricia is survived by her three children, Rae Marie Robertson and Patrick Ferris of Lincoln, and Peter and Sue Ferris of Plymouth, N.H.; her grandchildren, Charity Ferris and her husband, Brian Negeli and their son, Collin, of Monroe, Conn., Dan Ferris and his wife, Yvonne, of Amherst, N.H., and Noelle Ferris of Plymouth, N.H.; a special nephew, Kenneth Ridley of Garner, N.C.; as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins, and her cat, Sam.
