->NORTH VASSALBORO -- Patricia A. Brown passed away Monday, June 26, 2006, peacefully after a 20-year struggle with breast cancer.Pat was born in Waterville, the eldest daughter of Maurice and Irene (Rodrigue) Mayo.Pat graduated from Mount Merici, Waterville, and Trinity College, Burlington, Vt. She also took several art courses at the University of Maine at Augusta and attended the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work. Pat did social work in New York City, and in Maine for Motivational Services and the Maine Independent Living Services. She also did substitute teaching.Pat completed many fine oil paintings and water colors which she exhibited at fairs and other facilities throughout the state which brought her much joy. She loved cooking, traveling and visits to Arizona and the West.She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Richard "Dick" Mayo.She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Brown; and daughter and son-in-law, Anie and Joseph Kline, and the greatest joy of her life, her grandson, Spencer. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Mayo, of Farmington, N.H.; a brother, Timothy Mayo, of Bar Harbor; several brothers and sisters-in-law; a special niece, Megan Owen and her family; several other nieces, nephews, cousins; and Aunt Laura. And a special thanks to Helen Hoover and her daughter, Rosie and to Rita Lowe. Also, a special thanks to all the oncology staff, hospice staff, home care aides and Christine Poulin, who helped Pat through these difficult times.Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 30, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Vassalboro.
