Mrs. Pamela Rene Benson-Carter "Peaches" - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Pamela Rene Benson-Carter, 41, had her transition Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Memorial Health University Medical Center surrounded by her loving and devoted family. A native of Savannah, "Peaches", as she was affectionately known, attended the public schools of Chatham County and a 1985 graduate of Windsor Forest High School. She took some Nursing courses and received a certificate in cake decorating. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn. Survivors: loving husband of twenty-three years, Alvin Carter, Sr.; son, Alvin (Shavela) Carter, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Leann Riley, all of Savannah; mother, Evangelist Ida Lewis; stepfather, Elder Robert O. Lewis of Savannah; father L.C. Benson of New York; three grands, Taniah, Shanelle and Kahmylle, all of Savannah; five sisters, Kim Lewis (Doc) of Savannah, Marcella, Marsha, Tanya, Sony, Mekeema all of New York; niece, Ebony Ownes of Savannah; mother- in-law; God daughter, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
