Patricia K. Smith Valparaiso Patricia K. (nee Jarmusz) Smith, age 61 years of Valparaiso formerly of Gary, passed away on Friday December 31, 2004. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Pat assisted her husband in his dental practice for many years after graduating with highest honors from Elkhart Dental College. She spent the final years of her life as caregiver for her mother, Estelle Jarmusz, uncle Ed Kurley, and her grandchildren. She lived her life unselfishly forever placing the needs of her family and friends at the forefront. She will be deeply missed by all the lives she has touched. Pat's family would like to give special thanks to their longtime friends, Dr. James Taylor, for his loving care, and to the I.C.U. at Porter Memorial Hospital for their aid and comfort. She was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle Jarmusz and uncle, Chester Kurley. Survived by husband - Dr. Hugh A. Smith, Sr of Valparaiso; son - Hugh A. Smith Jr. of Austin, TX; two daughter - Dr. Kelly Smith (Allen) Smuddle of Santa Clarita, CA and Shannon Angelidis of Stevenson Ranch, CA; three grandchildren - Allison Angelidis, and Katheryn and Kameryn Smuddle; brother - Charles (Jeanne) Jamusz; and uncle Ed Kurley both of Valparaiso. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, with Rev. David H. Gosnell officiating. Cremation at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory will precede the funeral service. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM.
