Patricia Carolyn Williams of Greenburgh, NY, departed this life on September 24, 2006. Patricia was a native New Yorker who was born on January 9, 1943 to George and Gwendolyn Hayes. Patricia lived briefly in the Bronx but spent most of her formative years in Saint Albans, Queens. Mrs. Williams married her best friend and confidante Archie Joseph Williams of Red Springs, North Carolina on July 1, 1967. They later had two children, Melanie and Kanika. Mrs. Williams graduated from Shaw University with a B.A. in Sociology and received a M.S.W from Fordham University. She was a Certified Social Worker as well as a Licensed Master Social Worker. She began her career in social work as an intake social investigator for the New York City Child Welfare Administration. In 1975 she joined Cardinal McCloskey Services as a home finding case worker. She remained with Cardinal McCloskey for 27 years where she earned several promotions. When she retired in 2002 she was the Director of the Foster Boarding Home Department. She was a committed Christian whose love for God exhibited itself in all of the interactions she had with others. Also, she was a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a national public service organization. Mrs. Williams is survived by her two daughters, her son-in-law, Robert A. Oram III, several cousins, and a host of dear friends. The wake will be held from 6:30PM to 8:30PM at Union Baptist Church at 31 Manhattan Avenue in White Plains, NY 10607 (914) 948-6439 on Friday, September 29, 2006. The Funeral will be held in the same location at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2006.
