SMITH Patricia A., 67, passed away on Feb. 16, 2006, after a long illness, surrounded by friends and family. She was born in Brockton, and grew up in Holbrook. She graduated from Holbrook High School and the Art Institute of Boston. Patty was a generous and gracious lady who touched the lives of many who knew her. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Francis W. Smith and Jennie F. Smith of Holbrook. She is survived by her five sisters, one brother, two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law, Maureen Rupprecht and her husband Sumner of Jackson, N.H., Rita Smith of Boston, Madelyn Madow of Easton, Cecelia Vaida and her husband Paul of Sturbridge, Claire O'Brien of Springfield and Francis W. Smith Jr. and his wife Kathy Delaney Smith of Newton. She also leaves behind nine nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and three great-nephews. Patty was cared for by a loving and devoted mental health staff at the Area on Grounds Program of Taunton for 17 years. Her final days were spent in her group home and she was cared by the Raynham Hospice Care, who helped her to fill her last days with dignity. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 South Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visiting period Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home. A funeral Mass, celebrating her life, will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Burial in Union Cemetery, Holbrook.
