Ossie Lee Jones, the last of 5 siblings of the late Lori and Laura Jones, was born in Florence, S.C., on January 25, 1930. Ossie attended the public schools in Florence, S.C. He loved music and played the trumpet. He married his childhood sweetheart Edith Mae on January 4, 1951, and from this union were born Linda Elizabeth and Ossie Jr. Ossie leaves to mourn him his devoted wife, Edith, Deltona; his children, Linda and Ossie. both of St. Albans, N.Y.; and grandson, Ossie III., also of St Albans; nephew, Bruce Jones, wife, Mary, their children, Michael, Chamere and Charles; niece, Judy Rogers, her children, Chandra, Brian and Anthony; special friends, Mattie Lester, Julia and Andrew Rogers, Louise Bruten, Charles and Vera Butler; and a host of relatives and friends. Friends will be received Sunday, Sept., 30, 2007 at the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church, Deltona. Interment will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City.
