She was a native of Waxahachie, TX, but lived in Murfreesboro for the past 78 years. Evelyn was a member of Murfreesboro Pentecostal Church and a homemaker. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee Shipp and Willie Lee Neely Shipp; husband, Bevis Orr Johnson, Sr.; and daughter, Teresa Ann Milligan. She is survived by her sons, Bevis Orr (Virginia) Johnson, Jr. of Murfreesboro and Mathew Dwayne Johnson of Murfreesboro; daughter, Jenny Carol (Timothy) Jernigan of Beech Grove; 9 grandchildren, Jacqueline Searcy, Jake Milligan, Tiffany Jernigan, Caleb Milligan, Sara Milligan, Katie Milligan, Zachariah Johnson, Gaston Smith and Gina Pugh-Johnson; and one great-grandchild, Gwena Searcy.A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel, with Bro. Phillip Depriest officiating.
