Opal Lee Bryant, daughter of Roy L. and Ethel (Trimble) Hunter, was born December 18, 1917, in Dade County and went to be with the Lord January 28, 2006, at the age of 88. She was united in marriage April 20, 1934, to Eugene Bryant. To this union three children were born and survive: Lou Ann Hampton and husband, Joe, of Everton, Mo., Jimmie Bryant and wife, Sara, of Everton, Mo., and Janie Watson and husband, Butch, of Cassville, Mo. eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents husband and two brothers, Don and Merle Hunter. Opal Lee accepted Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of Everton Christian Church. Opal was a lifelong resident of Dade County, where she and her husband ran a cattle operation until Gene's passing. Opal continued to live on the family farm until failing health in November of 1998 when she moved to Springdale, Ark., in an assisted care facility, near her youngest daughter. In March 2003, she moved back home to Ash Grove Healthcare Facility until her passing, January 28, 2006. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, at 2 p.m. in the Wilson-BrimDaniel Chapel in Ash Grove with Rev. Josh Udell and Rev. Brian Neugebauer officiating. Interment will follow in Ash Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Everton Christian Church, P.O. Box 23, Everton, MO 65646.
