Obituary of Opal-Beck Mitchell

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Village Chapel for Opal Beck Mitchell, 77, Gadsden, who went to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. The Rev. David Carroll will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.She was preceded in death by her parents, O.H. and Loise Rains; husbands, Gerald Beck and the Rev. P.W. Mitchell, with whom she shared the ministry of his radio program, sending encouraging cards and letters to their many friends and supporters; brother and sister-in-law, Coy and Ann Rains; infant son, Gary Brian Sanders; and daughter, Carol Lee Naughton.She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Joe (Cindy) Sanders, Gadsden, and Bruce (Cindy) Beck, Culloden, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Olivia Carr and Oneda (C.O.) Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Jeffery Sanders, Michael Sanders, Jay Hugh Alldredge, Butch Clifton, Marion Dodd and Tommy Naughton.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
