Decatur<!--Decatur-->Funeral for Norma Jean Smith, 72, of Decatur will be Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith, who died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Morgan County to Clarence and Lucille Moore. Mrs. Smith was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a member of the Women's Guild, a BP Amoco retiree and former member of the police auxiliary. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, James William "Buddy" Moore. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa S. Daws and husband, Phillip; two brothers, Carl Moore and Maurice Moore; two sisters, Ophelia Borden and Francis Horton; and one grandchild, John Derek Mitchell and wife, Lori. Pallbearers will be John Derek Mitchell, Greg Green, Dusty Green, Maurice Moore, Gary Hall and Jimmy Borden. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Moore. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
