GRIMES, NORMA JEAN, 56Gainesville - Norma J. Grimes peacefully passed away on Nov. 9, 2008 at home. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a graduate of North Florida Community College. Mrs. Grimes retired from the V.A. Medical Center as a Diet-Tech. She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted husband and helpmate of 35 years, Henry L. Grimes Sr.; 3 sons, Randy, Henry Jr. and Max; 2 daughters, Latanya R. and Latonia A.; a host of grands and 2 great grands; 7 brothers, Dolphus Martin, Isadore Bowers Jr., Johnnie Bowers, Gregory Bowers Sr., Israel Bowers, Frederick Bowers and Kenny Bowers; 4 sisters, Alzora Kennedy, Gloria Bowers, Martha Bowers and Sharon Bowers; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends. Funeral Services for Mrs. Grimes will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Gainesville, FL with Rev. Geraldine W. McClellan officiating. Burial will be in Starke-Nelson Cemetery, Campville, FL. Viewing hours on Friday at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 727 NW 2 STREET, GAINESVILLE, FL, FROM 3-8 p.m.; Saturday at the church one hour prior to service. No viewing after the eulogy.
