JACKSON, Norah Norah Gerardine Jackson (nee McGrory) peacefully at the Bruyere Centre on Sept. 8, 2011, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Harold Ross Jackson. Devoted mother to Jenny (Graham Green), and dearly loved granny to Sylvia and Gwen Hughes. Survived by siblings Marian (Richard Heringer), Nancy (John O'Brien) and Fr. Barry McGrory. Pre-deceased by sister Mary Pat (Bill Murray) of San Francisco and John McGrory of Windsor. Norah will be keenly missed by her many nieces and nephews, her life-long friends in her two bridge clubs, her warm neighbours in the Barclay condominium, and her many colleagues at the Ottawa Separate School Board where she served as elementary school teacher, principal, and special education teacher with a particular interest in helping children learn to read. Special thanks to the Bruyere Palliative Care Centre. All are invited to remember Norah at Tubman Funeral Homes, Westboro Chapel, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt Avenue), Ottawa. Visitations will be held Monday, Sept. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A service honouring her life will be held Tuesday Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. Those so wishing may donate in Norah's memory to the Christmas Exchange's School Supplies Assistance Program (613-226-6434 or www.christmas-exchange.com ) Condolences, donations and tributes may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
