CLARKS HILL, S.C. - Entered into rest on June 30, 2003, Mrs. Nina Ledford Smith, wife of the late Ernest F. Smith of Clarks Hill. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, she was a member of and Past Worthy Matron Eastern Star Chapter 147 OES Valdese, N.C. and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Valdese, N.C. She was 104 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Mr. Oscar Smith of Valdese, N.C. Survivors are one daughter, Nina Mae Wrenn, Clarks Hill; two sisters, Edith Laws, Hudson, N.C. and Lila Coutes, Winston Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at Thomas L. King Funeral Home in Martinez, Ga.
