UntitledNEVA JEWEL GODWIN1915-2007Neva Jewel Godwin, age 92 of Pensacola, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007. Neva was born June 3, 1915 in Cornersville, TN. Her parents, Walter J. and Ann E. Griggs; husband, Bruce R. Godwin; brothers, W.J., R.W. and Thomas R. Griggs and sister, Viva R. Griggs, all preceded her in death.Neva spent many years working for the Escambia County School Board as a food service worker at Ferry Pass Middle School and Pine Forest Elementary, and cafeteria manager at Wedgewood Middle School and Woodham High School. She was a Christian and faithful member of the Scenic Hills Church of Christ.Survivors include daughter, Bobbie G. Miller (Levy H. Blue); grandsons, John M. Miller (Donna), Joseph R. Miller, James S. Miller (Susan); granddaughter-in-law, Laura J. Miller; great grandchildren, Douglas, Timothy, Mathew, Logan, Joshua and Stephen Miller, Sarah Miller, Deanna Robinson (Daniel) and Theresa Lilly (Patrick); great, great grandchildren, Hunter & Angel Robinson, Gavin Sanders and Diamond Lilly; sisters, M. Imogene Thurman, Margaret E. Terrell, Marcella S. McBride, and Ann F. Rodgers; brothers, Grady E. Griggs (Betty), Bernard O. Griggs (Mary) and Jimmy G. Griggs (Kay); sister-in-law, Lois Griggs; extended family, Elizabeth & Dorothy Blue, Sue Churchill, Mary Sturm (Mike) and JoAnn Blue (Admed Al Mayman), Allen Galbreath, Paul & Devin Churchill, Justin & Ginnie Sturm, Nura, Mansour and Lulua Al Mayman; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives, Scenic Hills Church of Christ family and numerous other friends.Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy, with Brother Kelly Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Bayview Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 12.Mama, we all love you and will miss you. You were the best mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother, and friend that we could ever have had. We are comforted that you have joined your loved ones in heaven.
