Neter Pearl Newton, 76, died Jan. 16, 2007. at Martin Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Brunson, S.C., and lived in Stuart for many years. She attended the Love Temple Church of God By Faith and had a church membership with the Greater Cherry Grove Christian Church of Hampton, SC. Survivors include sons, Raymond Newton, Jr. of Miami, Vannie Newton Sr., Calvin L. Newton Sr., John Henry Newton, Sr. and Horace Newton Sr., all of Stuart; daughters, Glorris Murphy of Vero Beach and Alfreda Newton of Stuart; brother, John Harvey Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Newton; children, JoAnn Newton, Diane Newton, Cheyenne Newton, Lizzie Mae Newton-Queen; brother, Jasper Harvey; sister, Georgianna Harvey Brown; and one grandchild. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Love Temple Church of God By Faith, Stuart. A funeral service will be noon Jan. 27 at the Greater Cherry Grove Christian Church, Hampton, S.C. Burial will follow.
