NELLIE GERTRUDE "TRUDY" SMITH DEMOTTE, IN Nellie Gertrude "Trudy" Smith, age 84 of DeMotte, IN, is "Together Again with her beloved "Will". Trudy passed away peacefully Friday, April 12, 2013 at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte, IN. She was born November 14, 1928 in Livia, KY to Robert and Jennie (Drace) Sutherland, both deceased. Trudy was a 1947 graduate of Utica Kentucky High School and a homemaker. On July 31, 1971, she married Wilmer "Will" Smith, who passed away December 30, 2009. She was a member of First Baptist Church of DeMotte and the Ladies Missionary Group. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. Also a special "Thanks" to Dr. VanderLugt and the staff at Oak Grove for their loving care of mom. Trudy is survived by her loving children: Sandra (Norman) Groet of DeMotte, IN, Janet Darlene (John) Murga of Wheatfield, IN, Ruth Ann (Roy) Jonkman of Wheatfield, IN, Terry L. Jennings of Griffith, IN and Debbie (Bob) Wasiuta of Highland, IN; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and brother, Ray (Evelyn) Sutherland of Hammond, IN. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters: Valarie and Theresa; son, Robert Alan; four sisters; and six brothers. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte with Pastor Duane Abston officiating. Interment at DeMotte Cemetery, DeMotte, IN.
