Nathaniel Jackson, 84, Spruce Pine, Ala., died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at his residence.Mr. Jackson lived in Franklin County all of his life and was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Spruce Pine. He was a retired construction worker.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 28, 2002, at Mount Hebron Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Jerome Sherrill and Marce Ponders will officiate. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Pinkard Funeral Home.He is survived by his sons, Wayne Jackson and wife, Patsy, Tommy Jackson and wife, Regina, all of Spruce Pine, Ala.; grandchildren, Doug Jackson and wife, Nina, Robin Scott and husband, Greg, Julie Owens and husband, Mike, Steven Jackson and wife, Chasity; great-grandchildren, Taylor Scott, LindseyJackson, Haley Scott, Leeah Jackson, Nathan Owens; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Jackson.Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
