Richmond HillMrs. Nancy Welborn Wood, 79, formerly of Griffin, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Brightmoor Nursing Center in Griffin.Mrs. Wood was born Dec.21, 1931, in Hinesville to the late Dr. Terry W. Welborn and the late Isabel S. Welborn. She was an active member of the ABCetts, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Griffin until moving to Richmond Hill. Mrs. Wood was retired from Dundee Mill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" Wood. She is survived by daughters, Terriann Howle of Fayetteville and Donna Wood of Farmington; son, Ken Wood of Richmond Hill; grandchildren and their spouses, Nathan Howle, Molly Howle, Wesley and Sarah Donegan, Emily and James Lane and Abbey Head; five great-grandchildren, Bella, Zack, Benjamin, Anna Grace and William; sister, Isabel Welborn Sands; and several nieces and nephews.A funeral mass is at noon Saturday, Nov. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Griffin with Father Neil Herlihy officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with nephew, the Rev. Robert Swafford. Visitation with a rosary is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.Remembrances may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church Building Fund, 10550 Ford Ave, Richmond Hill, Ga. 31324.Arrangements are by Conner-Westbury Funeral Home of Griffin, www.conner-westburyfuneralhome.com.
