Nancy Susie Richards Hixson GASTONIA, NC-- Nancy Susie Richards Hixson, 78, passed away March 24, 2013 at her residence. A native of Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John and Alene Richards. Ms. Hixson loved her family very much and was a kind and generous soul. She retired from LIT Industries as a seamstress. After retirement, she stayed busy enhancing the lives of others. She was a caregiver to many and a friend to all. She loved visiting nursing homes, giving parties for the residents and gospel singings. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Hixson and wife Bobbie of Gastonia, Roger Hixson and wife Kimberly of High Point, NC; daughter, Cathy Hamilton and husband Jake of Gastonia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Richards and John Richards Jr.; sisters, Madeline Waterson and Delores Hall. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia with Rev. Danny Rominger officiating. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
