Nancy Scott, born in 1938, daughter of Lionel and Edna, died on October 28, 2007 at 69 years old.
SCOTT-NANCY JEAN Mrs. Nancy Scott, beloved wife of Mr. Arnold Scott of Medicine Hat, Alberta, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 at the age of 69 years. Nancy also leaves to cherish her memory four children: Robbyn (Evelyn) Scott of Lumsden, SK and their children, Kaitlyn, Talena, Preston and Derrick; Lori (Dennis) Gonas of Bienfait, SK and their children, Devon and Dylan; Tammy (Joseph) Pastachak of Brooks and their children, Chassidy, Destinee and Emery; and Stacey Koren Scott of Calgary; two sisters, Alva Williams of Brandon, MB and Isabel (Henry) Zarn of Cromer, MB; sisters-in-law, Jean Lowdon of Virden, MB, Vi Kerslak of Moosomin, SK, Georgina Lowdon and Lila Lowdon, both of Virden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Lionel and Edna Lowdon; and brothers, Cliff, Tom, Stuart, Glenn (aka Farmer), Roger, and in infancy, Duncan and Melvin. Born in Virden, Manitoba on July 14th, 1938, Nancy was the seventh of ten children. She attended school in Woodnorth, Manitoba and later moved to Virden to work at the Bank of Commerce. While living in Virden, Nancy met and later married Arnold on July 2nd, 1960. They moved to Frobisher, SK to begin their family. In 1965, they relocated to Oxbow, SK residing there for 26 years before moving to Estevan, SK. In 2005, Nancy and Arnold retired to Medicine Hat. Nancy was a passionate, lively and loving woman who was especially known for her quick wit and teasing. Besides her immeasurable love for her family, she loved music, dancing, playing card games, hosting parties, cooking/baking, crossword puzzles, crafts and reciting anecdotes. She believed her proudest achievement was raising her children and the love of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. The Funeral Service will be held in ST. PAUL UNITED CHURCH, 286 Nelson Street West, VIRDEN, MB, on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Janice Van Aertselaer officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Virden Cemetery.
