ROWLEY, Mass. ; Nancy L. (Hurlbert) Patterson, 62, of Rowley, Mass., died Wednesday evening, Feb. 18, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of John "Jack" Patterson, who passed away in 2006.Mrs. Patterson was born in Lynn on March 20, 1946, daughter of the late Harold G. and Beverly E. (Bird) Hurlbert.Nancy and her late husband, John "Jack" Patterson, owned Patterson Oil in Rowley.She was a former Rainbow Girl. She was a big NASCAR fan and was a charter member of the NASCAR Members Club.Nancy was a supporter of the Humane Society. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Rowley.Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jennifer Patterson of Rochester, N.H.; her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Timothy Gill of Bloomington, Ind.; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and David Irving of Rowley; five grandchildren, Maryssa Patterson, Kaley Patterson, Sarah Patterson, Tyler Davey and Kyle Davey; also many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the afternoon at the First Congregational Church, 171 Main St., Rowley. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley.
