Nancy Michele' Smith, 39, of Seymour passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at her home. She was employed at NTN Driveshaft, where she was in the inventory control department. She followed her father's footsteps and was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a military police officer from 1989 to 1993. One of her tours of duty was Desert Storm, as was her father. It was during this time she met and married Billy Smith. Although divorced, Billy and his current family remain an important part of all her family. She was a gentle but strong and loving person, who loved her son and family. She was an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals and NASCAR racing. She enjoyed nature and sunshine, camping, fishing, water skiing, roller skating and candy making. She quilted, read, listened to music, attended concerts and treasured her cats and dogs. She collected crystal and quarry critters. Christmas was her favorite holiday and was filled with her snowman collection. Michele' was beloved as a daughter, sister and mother and will be sorely missed by all. She was born in Fort Monmouth, N.J., on Aug. 8, 1969, the daughter of Gary L. Coffey and Patricia Marie Adams. Survivors include her son, Justin Taylor Lindsay "JT" Smith; mother, Patricia Marie (George L.) Adams; father, Gary L. (Patti K.) Coffey; sisters, Lisa Kaye Coffey and Jennifer Marie (Joe) Sawyer; maternal grandparents, Charles and Imogene Lockman; nephews, Michael L. Epps and Joe Sawyer; niece, Kayla Marie Barnett; grand-nephew, Braedon L. Epps; stepbrother, Brian M. Adams; and stepsister, Georgetta Richardson. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour.
