NANCY LEE BROWN, 85Summit Corporation LAKELAND -- Nancy Lee Brown, 85, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, as a result of natural causes. Mrs. Brown was born April 21, 1928 in Harrietsville, WV to Morris Clyde Lee, Sr. and Georgia Battrell Lee. She moved to Lakeland in 1974 from Ohio. Mrs. Brown was employed by the Summit Corporation where she served as vice president of operations until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Christina Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Brown; loving sons, Charles "Corky" Shu-maker and Thomas Shumaker; and dear brothers, Morris Jr., Raymond, Robert, William, Donald, George and Franklin Lee. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Anne Shumaker; brother, Kent Lee and his wife, Ethel; sisters-in-law, Doris McNeely and Doris Cyfers; granddaughters, Christin Shumaker and her husband, Jonathan Billings and Jesilynn Drake; grandsons, Wesley Steele, IV and his wife, Stacie and Jonathan Steele; great granddaughter, Tesla; great grandsons, Hayden and Conner; and beloved cat, Apple. Mrs. Brown's family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 1-2pm at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. A celebration of Mrs. Brown's life will be conducted at 2pm. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
