Obituary of Nancy-Jane Moore


EAST HARTFORD - Nancy Jane (Pogmore) Moore, 70, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Thomas L. Moore, loving mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born on Aug. 31, 1936, in Wallingford, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Pogmore of Wallingford. She attended Wallingford schools and graduated from Meriden School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Gaylord Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. Mrs. Moore then opted for a full-time career as a mother. She was a 14 year breast cancer survivor who suffered from Parkinson's and other recent ailments. An avid gardener for decades, her death coincided with the first year it would be impossible for her to perform the gardening activities that she loved. She was devoted to her family and she will be dearly missed. Besides her husband, she is survived by her brother, Robert Pogmore and his wife, Nancy of Wallingford; her son, Thomas J. Moore and his wife, Ramona and her grandson, Patrick of Hamden; her son, Michael R. Moore and his wife, Carmela and her granddaughter, Lauren of Rocky Hill. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements will be kept private.
