MITCHELL- Nancy Isabelle Mitchell, age 83 years of Moose Jaw, formerly of Cardross, Sask passed away with family by her side on Sunday, December 31, 2006. Mom was born on the farm at Crane Valley, Sask on October 22, 1923. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Mitchell; children: Ian (Linda), Cameron (Janice), Bonnie (Al) Storer, Wade (Karen), Darrell (Carol); grandchildren: Corinna (Jason) Beaudin, Tana, Kimberly; Graham (Deanna), Warren, Darren (Delayne); Jennifer (Corey) Zieglgansberger, Kevin Storer; Evan, Drew, Gillian; Great-Grandchildren: Aida; Emmett: Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Johnathan; brother George (Marion) Smith; sister-inlaw Madeline Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mom was predeceased by her father and mother, Charles and Beatrice Smith, and her sister and brother, Irene and Reubin. Upon completion of Grade 12 in Crane Valley, Isabelle attended Normal School in Moose Jaw. Isabelle taught at Headlands and Mitchellton schools. Mom married Ken Mitchell on December 21, 1944 and resided on the family farm at Cardross until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1991. Although Mom was very active and played leadership roles in numerous activities in Cardross, Crane Valley and Moose Jaw, her greatest love and most cherished passion was her family. Isabelle worked tirelessly to organize family gatherings and always encouraged family participation. She dedicated herself to those she loved. Mom was a lady of great compassion and wisdom. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service on Friday, January 05, 2007 at St. Andrews United Church, 60 Athabasca Street East, Moose Jaw, Sask at 1:30 p.m. As part of the Living Legacy Planting Program, Parkview Funeral Chapel will have a tree planted in Wakamow Valley in memory of Isabelle.
