Nancy-H. Mitchell, born in 1934, spouse of David Mitchell, daughter of Leland and Mae-Belle, mother of Susan, Tenn, Chuck, Tammie, Mike, Debbie, Teresa and Susan Carol, died on October 15, 2006 at 72 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Mrs. Nancy Holt Mitchell, age 72, of Tuscumbia, Ala., died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006.Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from 12:30-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia.Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, of Tuscumbia. Brother Tim Haney and lifelong friend, Scott Hutchins, will officiate.Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Belle Holt; her father, Leland Holt; brother, Harold Holt; and daughter, Susan Carol Mitchell.Survivors include her husband of 58 years, David Mitchell; son, Mike Mitchell and wife, Teresa, of Tuscumbia; daughters, Debbie Lester and husband, Mike, of Florence, and Tammie Elam and husband, Chuck, of Cleveland, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Jessica Fuller and husband, Randall, of Muscle Shoals, Randall Robbins, of Sheffield, Susanna Robbins, of Huntsville, Courtney Stetzler and husband, Jeff, of Chattanooga, Rachael Hunter and husband, Lance, of Moulton; three great-grandchildren, Blake and Cody Fuller and Abbie Stetzler.She was a lifelong member of Valdosta Baptist Church, of Tuscumbia. She ran the Peppermint Pony gift shop, where she never tired of seeing the sweet friends that she made there. She always said she could never bring her daughter, Susan, back, but she could always go to heaven and be with her. Even though the family will miss her tremendously, we know she has peace and rest in heaven.Pallbearers are Frank Brotherton, Richard Twilley, Wallace Mitchell, J.C. Cabiness, Bob Betsch and Mike Durham.The family would like to thank all the staff of Northwest Alabama Cancer Center and all the kind nurses on the fourth floor of Helen Keller Hospital and a special thank you to her adopted sisters, Jo, Virginia, Jean, Jane and Mutt, for all their love and support.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to Valdosta Baptist Church.Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia, is directing.
