Nancy G. McDowell CHESNEE, SC-- Mrs. Nancy G. McDowell, "Aunt Nancy" was born April 15, 1919 in Spartanburg County, SC. She entered eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 after an extended illness at home. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Spurgeon Jackson and Mrs. Hattie Landrum Jackson. She was a member of New Bedford Baptist Church in Campobello, SC. Mrs. McDowell was preceded in death by her son Johnny Leon Sims. Mrs. McDowell leaves to cherish fond and loving memories; sons Oneal (Willene) Jones and Furman (Mamie) Jones of Chesnee, SC, Clifford Sims Jr. and Roger Sims of the home; daughters Clara (Edgebert) Jones and Lena (Johnny) Bogan of Spartanburg, SC, and Christine (Henry) Elijah of Chesnee, 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
