Nancy-F. Miller, born in 1921, spouse of Walter Miller, mother of Walter and Shirley, died on June 15, 2003 at 81 years old.
Nancy F. "Nana" Formerly of Sherman Ave., Southport, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2003, surrounded by her loving family at the Chemung County Nursing Facility following an illness at the age of 81. Born here in Elmira on October 14, 1921, Nancy was the daughter of the late George, Sr. & Susie Dodge Fleming. She married Walter Miller in 1940 and he predeceased her in 1988. Her interests included reading and crossword puzzles. She was active in the Wellsburg Senior Citizens Group and was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church. Nancy was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her loving family which survive her. A daughter and son-in-law, Shirley & Charles Sullivan, Wellsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Jr. & Sherry Miller, Elmira; John & Rita Polk, Elmira; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward & Sharon Fleming, Elmira; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy was also predeceased by her brother, George Fleming, Jr. and her grandson, Brad Polk. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Wednesday, June 18, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Evening funeral services will follow the visitation in the Gardens at Caywood's at 8 p.m. The interment will take place in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, at her family's convenience.
