KING Nancy Elizabeth King, 75, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Mrs. King was born in Liberty, South Carolina and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. She was an active member of Kings Road Baptist Church and an Avon Representative for over 40 years. She was the neighborhood Big Granny . Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, cooking, reading, playing cards and doing whatever she could for those around her. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert H. King in 1997, her parents, Hillie and Elenor King and stepmother, Edna King. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Richard L. King; three daughters, Rhonda Turner (Jim), Lisa A. Anderson and Dale N. Benac (Tony); three sons, Steve King (Jean), Jake Jones and Michael King (Michelle); two brothers, Hilly Johnny King, Jr. and Kenneth Lee King (Susan); 15 grandchildren, Jessica Steedman, Shannon Turner, Michelle Jones, Amanda Leigh Tubberville, Brittany N. Hasty, Austin L. Hile, Joshua King, Chelsea Jennifer Burney, Taylor King, Lindsey Knoff, Chris Braud, Brandon Jones, Jordyn Jones, Dylan Michael King and Myranda Elizabeth King; 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and her beloved four-legged son, Buddy . The funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, February 1, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Rev. Lee Whitaker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday (Today) at the funeral home.
