Obituary of Nancy-Diane-Van Halm


van HALM, Nancy Diane (nee Snider) - Passed away after a brief illness at the Scarborough Centenary Hospital on Friday, February 28, 2014 in her 82nd year. Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Wilhelmus "Wil". She is survived by their children Robert (Patricia) van Halm and Catherine (Randy) Sabourin; her grandchildren Russell, Colleen, Melissa, Rachelle and Ryan; her great-grandson Travis; as well as her great-granddaughter Brooklyn. Nancy was a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design. She and Wil met while working together at a Photographic Survey. Together they lived in Toronto, Caracas, Venezuela, Montreal and Peterborough. Nancy most recently lived in the town of Uxbridge. She was a longtime employee of the Toronto Board of Education, working as an Administrative Assistant in 3 different schools. Nancy will be remembered for her beautiful needlework in both cross-stitch and quilting as well as her never- ending love of crossword and jigsaw puzzles and of course cats! Nancy will be reunited with Wil and her parents Bruce and Isabelle Snider at Park Lawn Cemetery in the spring, where there will be a private family service.
