Nancy K. Carter - GUYTON - Nancy K. Carter, 68, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice Savannah, Monday, August 18, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Nancy was born in Kankakee, IL, November 2, 1945. She moved to Georgia in 1962. Nancy worked in the Insurance Industry for several years and had volunteered with Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was a member of Savannah Christian Church - Effingham Campus. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Yarno. Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Danny Carter; daughters, Vicki Carter (Jimmy), Christine Estridge (Dean), Jill Edwards (Eric); mother, Lorraine Loughry; sister, Barbara Swinford (Paul); brother, Larry Yarno (Pat); grandchildren, Nicholas Estridge (Carolyn), Alex Estridge, Patrick and Jason Carter, Avery, Ryan, and Lexie Edwards; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Fairhaven Funeral Home Garden City Chapel from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.; a service to celebrate Nancy's life will begin at 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Summit Cancer Care and her family and friends for their love and support.
