Nancy Atwater Paterson August 11, 2010 Nancy Atwater Paterson, 83, of Binghamton, passed away Wednesday August 11, 2010. Originally from Auburn, NY, she was the daughter of Vera and George Burnett Atwater. She was predeceased by husband Don in 2007 and daughter Nancy Lou in April of this year. She is survived by daughter Sally and son-in-law Chuck Reutlinger, of Auburn, and granddaughters Emily and Martha Reutlinger, currently of Brooklyn. She graduated from East High in 1945 and went on to graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she met her husband Don. Nancy taught elementary school in Nimmonsburg and Port Dickinson for 32 years. She was devoted to her family and friends. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Binghamton and an accomplished square dancer, gardener and bridge player. A funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Binghamton, on Friday, August 20, at noon. Her pastor, the Rev. Monica Styron, will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn, NY, on Saturday at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends on Friday at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., Johnson City. In lieu of flowers a scholarship has been established in her name in care of scholarship coordinator at Chenango Valley Central Schools, 221 Chenango Bridge Road, Binghamton, NY 13901, or the First Presbyterian Church of Binghamton, 42 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
