WARRENTON, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, March 9, 2003, Ms. Nancy Adrienne Walker of Bray Street, Warrenton. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Sandy Grove A.M.E. Church, Warrenton, Rev. Charlie Myrick officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church beginning at noon. Ms. Walker was a Warren County native and a member of the Sandy Grove A.M.E. Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, active president of the Missionary Department, class leader, church secretary and director of the YPDers and active member of the senior choir. She was a counselor for the Junior Green Thumb Garden Club of Warrenton. Ms. Walker was also committee chairman and den leader for the Scout Pack Troup and Post 100 of the Boy Scouts of America. Ms. Walker was a teacher of many years. She retired from teaching at Rocky Branch, Warrenton Elementary School and Warrenton High School in 1976. She was also involved in adult education program and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #127, the Green Thumb Garden Club, the National Education Association, the Georgia Education Association, the Retired Teachers Association and a lifetime member of the Parents and Teachers Association. Her formal education was received from the Sandy Grove School, Warrenton Elementary School and High School and T.J. Elder Institute, Sandersville. She was a graduate of Savannah State College and furthered her studies at Paine College, Augusta, and University of Georgia in Athens. Survivors are one sister, Thelma Holmes, Warrenton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may call at 109 Bray Street, Warrenton.
