ObituaryNadine Virginia Smith-Schaffner, 82, formerly of York, PA, passed away Sunday March 24, 2002 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born September 15, 1919 in York, PA and has lived here since 1982. She graduated from West York High School in 1937, retired in 1982 from Lyon Metal Corporation, enjoyed writing and wrote many unpublished writings. After moving here she worked for the V.F.W. in Fort Myers until 1992. Mrs. Smith-Schaffner is survived by her husband of 11 years, Charles 'Shack' Schaffner of Fort Myers; son, Jerrold O. (Faith) Smith of Dover, PA; daughter, Suzanne B. (Stewart) Hess of Tampa, FL; sister, Dolores Mayor of Fort Myers; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter J. Smith and a son Steven W. Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are being handled by Harvey-Engelhardt- Metz Funeral Home, 1600 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.
