Obituary of Myrtle Jordan


Myrtle Frances Jordan Jordan, 85, formerly of Daventon Road, widow of Richard Deforest Jordan, departed to be with her savior on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Riverside Living Center in Piedmont.Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Avery and Nellie Kellett Jordan. She retired from the Baptist Book Store in Greenville and was a member of Daventon Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Avery Edward "Eddie" and Merly Jordan, of Anderson, Richard Don and Jane Ridgeway Jordan, of Pelzer, and Roger Deforest and Betty Jordan, of Williamston. She is also survived by her sisters, Lorraine Davis, of Greenville, and Joyce Coates, of Pelzer; grandchildren, Daphne Burdette, Kathy Lawrence, Rich Jordan, Amanda Kish, Abigail Jordan, Cindy Jordan, Isaac Jordan and Samuel Jordan; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Daventon Baptist Church with the Rev. Jon Lyles and the Rev. Tommy Lowe officiating.
