SYLACAUGA- Memorial services for Myrtle Elizabeth Harris, age 80, will be Friday, March 6, at 12 noon at Pine Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church, 508 Sherwood Drive, Sylacauga. Ms. Harris died Feb. 23, 2009. Myrtle graduated from East Highland High School and attended Oakwood College in Huntsville. She was a humble homemaker with exceptional organizational skills. At a young age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized into the Pine Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church. Myrtle was preceded in death by parents, Booker T. Harris Sr. and Irene Harris; sisters, Deloris Thongs and Clevon Harris; brothers, Booker T. Harris Jr. and Leon E. Harris. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Odell Merriweather of Chicago, Ill.; one devoted aunt, Mable Baker of Sylacauga; one sister-in-law, Christine Harris; caretaker and cousin, Reajean (Marvin) Moten; a loving church family; and a host of relatives and friends. Childersburg Mortuary will direct the services.
