Mrs. -Willie-Mae Smith, born in 1928, spouse of Edsel Smith, daughter of John and Myrtle, mother of Janice and David, died on October 14, 2008 at 80 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Mrs. Willie Mae Smith, age 80, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008. She was a member of Hightower Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Smith; brother, Hulon Andrews; and parents, John Henry and Myrtle Andrews. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and David Turner of Dawsonville; two grandchildren, Michell and Clint Smith of Cumming, Matthew and Brandi Turner of Dawsonville; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Connor Smith of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Clinton Griffin of Cumming; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Annie Laura Smith of Cumming, Mary Chumbler of Cumming, Betty Perry of Cumming, Hugh and Joyce Smith of Cumming; special caregiver, Martha Power of Cumming; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, at 3 p.m. at Hightower Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerral Richards, the Rev. Clint Smith and the Rev. Greg Hamilton officiating. Entombment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. Remains will be placed in state at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m to 9 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. until hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Hospice Foundation, 2120 L Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037. Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
