Obituary of Mrs. -Sandra-Gaile Smith


SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Sandra Gaile Smith, 71, will be Thursday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Woodin and the Rev. Sonny Champion officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Feb. 15, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was an active member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She retired as a registered nurse from UAB after some 15 years of service. Survivors are her husband, Gary Smith of Sylacauga; daughters, Mona Holloway of Sylacauga and Connie Waldheim of Nashville; brother, Richard Fergerson of Anniston; sister, Mary Belle Waldheim of Gadsden; six grandchildren; nephews, Oscar Waldheim of Franklin, TN, Michael Waldheim of Birmingham, David Hora of Cherry Valley, CA, and Daniel Hora of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law, Neva Cochran of Cherry Valley, CA. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 35924 U.S. Hwy 280, Childersburg, AL 35044. Pallbearers will be Richard Fergerson, Joe Teel, David Hora, Oscar Waldheim, Michael Waldheim, and Eric Vaughn. Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.
