PELL CITY - Funeral services for Ruby Mae Bowman Phillips, 93, were Thursday, April 9, 11 a.m. at Eden Westside Baptist Church with interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips died April 6, 2009. She was a lifelong resident of Eden, the longest living charter member of Eden Westside Baptist Church where she had been a member since 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Fannie Bowman; her husband, Bertis Phillips; her sister, Lanola "Slim" Hill; and her three brothers, Rufus, Claude and Ray Bowman. Survivors are a daughter, Sallie Foote; grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Patterson, Katherine (Kyle) Colley; great grandchildren, Joshua Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Jaiden Colley and Jrey Colley; several nieces and nephews who thought the world of her and she of them. Pallbearers were Johnny Kendrick, Garland Davis, Joel Masters, Ronnie Bowman, Kyle Colley and Joshua Patterson. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.
