Obituary of Mrs. -Robbie-D. Smith


Funeral services for Mrs. Robbie D. Smith, of Eastaboga, will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Rodney Cartee officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith passed away May 18, 2010. A native of Talladega County, Mrs. Smith managed a Top Value Stamp Store in Huntsville, Ala. and Knoxville, Tenn. prior to retiring and moving back to Calhoun County. She enjoyed flower gardening, all kinds of music and was a loyal Elvis fan. She was a loving wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Mr. Robert L. Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by daughters, Deborah Harris and Karen Currie; a son, Michael Smith; one sister, Betty Anderson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer many thanks to UAB Pulmonary Care Unit and Palliative Care Unit. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Foundation, 811 W. Evergreen Suite 303, Chicago, Illinois 60642.
