HEFLIN — Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Johnson, 69, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Heflin with the Rev. Charles Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Ervin Funeral Chapel directing. Mrs. Johnson died December 23, 2009 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, John E. Johnson; two daughters, Miranda (Gregory) Brown, of Huntsville, and Angie (Derec) Jeffers, of Oxford; two sons, Fredrick Sr. (Jennie) Johnson, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Benjamin Sr. (Maggie) Johnson, of Heflin; twelve grandchildren, Corey (Nicole) Brown, Andrea Brown, Amanda (Tarik) Henderson, Benjamin Johnson Jr., Christopher Johnson, Brittney Johnson, Shayla Johnson, Summer Johnson, Frederick Johnson Jr., Sarah Johnson, Shanise Coleman, and Dana Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Jaylan Brown, Ariel Brown, Amya Henderson, and Tarik Henderson Jr.; three sisters, Bronzell Cooley, Lester (Marvin) Redford, and Sarah Prothro, all of Heflin; three brothers, Olen Jack (Beatrice) Hayes, of Fayetteville, N.C., Durlin (Selma) Hayes, and Lee Morris Hayes, all of Durham, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
