Mrs. Mary Jane Barnes, 77, of Hernando, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008. She was born April 9, 1931, in Kansas City, MO. She was Episcopalian, attending St Margaret's Episcopal Church, Inverness. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Dunnellon. She was the widow of the late Bobby Joe Barnes, who died July 8, 2000. They were married in England in 1951 and she was with him during his 20-plus years in the U.S. Air Force, being stationed in Hawaii, where she enjoyed photography. They retired in Wichita, KS, and moved to Inglis, FL, where they owned and operated Bob's Electric. She was at her husband's side while he served as Mayor of Inglis. After Bob's death, she enjoyed spending time with her friends at Dyna Body, and with her family. She is survived by her son & his wife, Andrew M. & Stacy Barnes, and 1 grandson, Brandon "Teddy" Barnes, all of Hernando. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes.
