Mrs. -Maggie Jackson, born in 1900, daughter of William and Alice-Moton, died on November 10, 2012 at 112 years old.
FITZGERALD, Ga. -- Mrs. Maggie Smith Jackson, age 112, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home in Fitzgerald, Ga. The Telfair County native was the daughter of the late Mr. William and Alice Moton Smith. Mrs. Jackson was a devoted member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, and loved by many.Mrs. Jackson leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Oliver Moring Jr. (Lucille); and daughter-in-law, Sarah Moring; grandchildren, Mr. Enoch Clark of Statesboro, Ga., Mrs. Maricia Clark Wesley (Ralph) and Mr. Emory Louis Clark, all of Fitzgerald, Ga.; and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.Family visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the Hall's Funeral Home, 415 East Pine Street, Fitzgerald, GA 31750.The funeral service for Mrs. Jacskon will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 808 E. Jessamine Street, Fitzgerald, GA 31750, the Rev. Douglas Taylor, pastor, presiding, and the Rev. Donald Walker, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Francis Chapel Cemetery, Highway 280 East, Telfair County, Ga.Mrs. Jackson will lie in state on the day of service one hour prior to the service for viewing.
